As a photographer documenting the beauty of one of the planet’s great mysteries, Kristin Hettermann, founder of OCEANSCAPES, captures moments in and around the sea hoping to communicate the sensual, ethereal, and sacred space of the deep blue. OCEANSCAPES Lifestyle Collection was designed to offer fun, creative and affordable gifts for self and others that inspire us to #feeltheocean.
A portion of profits benefit Oceanic Global. Oceanic Global honors humanity’s essential relationship to our ocean. Raising awareness for the devastating effects of human consumption on our aquatic ecosystems, Oceanic Global works with leading scientists, conservationists, artists, and industry experts to drive positive change. Targeting an international audience with a predominantly millennial focus, one of Oceanic’s recent major community events in Ibiza was a major influence in Ibiza’s government passing policy to go single use plastic free by 2020. Funds raised through this OCEANSCAPES Lifestyle Collection will benefit The Oceanic Standard program, focused on removing plastic from the waste cycle and encouraging businesses to adopt sustainable practices.
Our line was developed in partnership with Gooten, a creative outsourcing company regarded as one of the most socially and environmentally responsible platforms in the market to create and ship products, nationally and internationally, prioritizing manufacturers that value sustainability and conservation alongside print quality and efficiency. Most of our products are printed in the United States and vendors have confirmed that they do not test on animals and that no animal byproducts are used in making inks.
The tees and tanks in the Oceanic Global line are eco-friendly, organic cotton and supplied through Bella+Canvas, with a 100% “no sweatshop” commitment. They use vegetable-based offset inks — which are just as vibrant and reliable — to replace former petroleum-based counterparts. They are WRAP certified (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) which is an extensive application process in which manufacturing facilities, working environments, and worker's rights are inspected and approved by the WRAP association.
